The day May 11, 2011 at 18,47h, an earthquake of magnitude 5.1, which has been preceded by an earthquake of 4.5, as confirmed by the Government Delegation in Lorca. The Government delegate, Rafael González Tovar, has confirmed that eight died and two others are very serious. In addition, the number of injured stands at fifty.

On May 13, 2011, we received from the EMAT Lieutenant Colonel Felix Conde, the request for a certificate of strengthening health workers SAMU; To assist victims of the earthquake that struck the town of Lorca on May 11, 2011.

SAMU responded to this request by sending five nurses and a doctor at the Masters UECAH. This staff joined the command of Lieutenant Colonel, under the auspices of Escalon Medical Advanced, on May 13 and remained in place until 20 May 2011.

As the main objective of the mission we set:

  • Support the Escalon Medical Advanced with stabilizing elements in Lorca following the earthquake happened last day on May 11, with health professionals Master of UECAH.
